About Style On Tile

Hi, I'm Daniel.

Style On Tile is my studio in Sunbury, on the north-west edge of Melbourne. Every tile on this site is designed and made here, by me, one order at a time.

Most weekends you'll find me at a market somewhere in Victoria, and those faces up there are the best part of the job. This is why I do it.

My mission
To transform the memories, places and works of art people treasure into beautiful, lasting ceramic pieces to display, to use, and to build into your home.

Make what matters last.

Ceramic is permanent, so it should hold what's permanent to you. I use personalisation and that permanence to strengthen your connection to the people, places, memories and achievements that matter most.

The house you raised your family in, your child's name on their bedroom door, the dog you still miss, the street you finally bought on.

2 Reframe art

Art you can live with, not just look at.

I want to introduce people to a different way of showing art: on a medium that's as beautiful on a shelf as it is useful in a kitchen splashback, a shower or a feature wall.

Every design I sell is my own, or a work of art that is genuinely in the public domain, like Hokusai's Great Wave, Van Gogh, Monet and Ohara Koson.

Options the big tile stores can't give you.

Mass-market retailers sell what's in the catalogue. I make what you ask for: your house number in your style, a sign for your home or business, a feature tile or splashback in your size and colours.

  • You see your design before anything is made.
  • Designers, builders, tilers and real estate agents are welcome too.
  • If one ever arrives damaged, send me a photo and I'll replace it.

About Style On Tile

Hi, I'm Daniel. Style On Tile is my studio in Sunbury, on the north-west edge of Melbourne, and every tile on this site is made here, by me, one order at a time.

I started in May 2024 because I believe a tile can be much more than something you grout into a wall. Ceramic lasts. That makes it the right home for the things that matter to people: the house you raised your family in, your child's name on their bedroom door, the dog you still miss, the street you live on, or a painting you've loved for years.

So most of what I make is personal. House numbers and name plaques, house portraits drawn from a photo, photo tiles, signs for a home or a business, and art tiles and murals that are as useful in a kitchen or bathroom as they are beautiful on a shelf. If you can picture it, there's a good chance I can put it on tile, and give you options a big-box tile shop can't.

I also work with businesses: kitchen and bathroom designers, builders and tilers who want a custom feature tile or splashback for a project, and real estate agents and companies looking for signage or a gift with meaning. If that's you, get in touch and we'll work out what your project needs.

A few things I hold myself to:

  • Every piece is one I'm proud to put my name to. The colour is bonded into the tile's glazed surface, so it won't peel, flake or rub off.
  • You're looked after. You tell me what you want, I design it, and you see the design before anything is made. If it's not right, we change it. Questions get a real answer, quickly.
  • Art done honestly. I only reproduce my own designs, or art that is genuinely in the public domain.
  • Meaning over volume. I'd rather make something you'll keep for life than be the cheapest tile on the internet.

Tiles are bubble wrapped, boxed and sent anywhere in Australia, and if one ever arrives damaged, send me a photo and I'll replace it. You'll also find me at markets around Victoria. Come and say hello.
